So yesterday while I was keeping track of articles I've read I realized that I do count using my fingers...
Apparently 1pointer, 2middle,3thumb.

If I'm counting "1, 2, 3" I go index, middle, ring. If I'm just showing the number "3," then I've started using my middle, ring, and pinky fingers.

I don't need my hands to count to three. I have a brain that can handle these chores

This is actually relevant to me as a soon-to-be highschool basketball official, as for reporting fouls I have to say the number as well as show it with my hand.

For everyone else, maybe they just suck at math.
