Leonids 2009!

Sounds like this will be a great year for them I'm excited!

The leonids of 2001 weren't the first meteor shower I saw, but definitely the first really good one I saw.

The way to view the Leonids is typically something like this:
1) bundle up (it's cold in the northern hemisphere!)
2) go outside with all the lights turned off, somewhere where city lights don't interfere
3) Look up and slightly to the northeast. Mostly up, though. something like 11 o'clock north and 11 o'clock east, if that means anything to you.
4) relax and count

It's best if these are on a weekend, because then you can just stay up after midnight and go out, instead of having to wake up special.

You get them everywhere, rantz! The earth is passing through a stream of rocks that enter our atmosphere, so you can see them at any side!
