Fictional and preferrably not crime. Other than that, I'm looking for a drama and/or action. I don't mind if there is comedy involved or not. I like Lost, I liked Heroes before time travel became easy, I like Stargate Universe, I like The Simpsons and South Park. I liked Futurama and The 4400. I liked House but got bored of it after a while as I felt the show was too limited and predictable, despite the great characters. I liked One Tree Hill for the few seasons I watched, and enjoyed The O.C. I like Two and a Half Men and Scrubs is cool. BSG was cool too. So yarrr.

But basically the only TV series I watch every episode of at the moment are Lost and Stargate Universe. I'm hoping to watch something that's been out for a season or more but is ongoing, so I can watch a lot of episodes over winter.

I LOVE DEXTER! It's about the only show I follow at all, and make sure to watch weekly.

I don't care that it's crime, Life On Mars & Ashes To Ashes are a must watch.
Does it have to be something that's on currently? Cause I would say to invest in Farscape =D
I made one myself for a change! Although you can probably tell that..

True Blood is pretty good at the minute. Also a big fan of 24 good for all your action needs!

Dexter - absolutely amazing I gotta start watching Season 4 soon.

    Bones - With 22 + episodes a Season & into it's 5th Season I'd recommend it highly.

Moonlight - A series about a vampire private detective. So far only 1 Season but worth watching.

I've had House & Sons Of Anarchy recommended to me also you should try these too.

    House is still great.

Shows I watch that you didn't mention:

Dexter: still a great show. Season 4 has so far kept me interested, but if you haven't watched any of it then you will have plenty to go through between Seasons 1-3.

V: new show I just started watching. It's not bad, but nothing spectacular so far. Still, it shows promise.

Nip/tuck: Show about a plastic surgeon's office. I haven't watched too much of it, only like half the first season, but its really graphic and explicit. Pretty good drama, too.

Dexter: Season 3 sort of lost my interest half way through, but s4 is making up for it.

    Six Feet Under:
Watch this. Watch it all. It is single-handedly the best drama ever made ever ever ever. It's so sad. The first 10 minutes of the first episode, and the last ten minutes of the series are just pure smurfing gold. I don't really cry over movies/books/tv/whatever, but this show turns me into a baby every time - ESPECIALLY the series finale.

Oh, and Glee (dramady) and Modern Family (sitcom) are pretty good too.

Some new alright shows: Flashforward or V. They just started so you can still get into it.

But I'd recommend Breaking Bad if you want some sweet drama. It's like 2 seasons so far. Find it online!

And if you want a fun show then Supernatural is good for that. Also find it online!

    Check out this thread, yo.

And I'll second the recommendation for Glee and True Blood. Glee is the best show to emerge this year, I absolutely love it. And True Blood is sexy and violent, everything you expect from HBO.

I'm not too into True Blood or anything that features a vampire. Especially if it's a vampire and human in love. The most overdone concept in history, it's like everyone in Hollywood took lessons on how to write a cliché and copied each other's homework.

I've seen Six Feet Under from when I was back in NZ, it never really appealed to me. Nip/Tuck is definitely not my thing. I'll probably pre-empt a lot of things by adding that I dislike almost all drama shows that are based 90% around a workplace environment, eg. Grey's Anatomy.

Glee? Hmm. Not sure if I'm into such an insanely happy TV series (which is weird, because I generally avoid depressing/negative people). I'm hoping for something a bit more fantasy/sci-fi if possible, a la Lost. A massive thanks for the link to that thread, though - I'll definitely be looking into a few mentioned throughout the thread.

So far, from various suggestions people have thrown around, I'm probably going to download the pilot episodes of: Supernatural, Mad Men, Warehouse 13, Rome, The Inbetweeners and maybe re-watch the old X-Files episodes because they were so well done. V looks interesting, too, might get that as well.

EDIT: And thanks for the masses of responses.

If you liked X-Files I would check out Fringe. It's pretty good.

If you like Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory has the same creator. It's about nerds.

Two and a half men is one of the single worst shows i've ever witnessed.

Catch Fringe Bobert, or Supernatural. The 'V' remakes aren't anything special. Comedy, Modern Family is outstanding.
