We dorfs are totally mighty now! So, if a beast invades, we need a failsafe to flood the fortress with lava just to make certain our secrets are safe!

Kinda made my defenses redundant......still the new gatehouse will look awesome for the snipers to shoot from. We need another marksdwarf squad still
Yeah, just pull up the drawbridges and have a bunch of crossbowdwarves do all the dirty work while the melee dwarves pull faces or something.

We need to start construction on a 3x3 tower to the Gods. Just saying, then, rig a pump to go all the way to the top and create a waterfall of epic proportions!

I mostly just expanded on Psychotic's original tower and the original trade depot building (the non-trap one that is) so I can't take all the credit. Oh could you see (I'm dumb and couldn't figure it out) why the dwarves wouldn't build the last tile of stone flooring in the new connecting hall?
Hahahaha, Old Manus just entered a "martial trance" and killed a baby.
(The dwarves cancelled its construction for some reason, Iceglow. There's a lot of stone on that particular tile set to be dumped. Could be related.)
yeah the stone was there and I think that they cancelled the construction due to the fact an item was in the way so I set the stones there to be dumped (to be reclaimed later) however they never moved it :S
Oh and how do I recognize if a place has a lava pool from the embark screen?
Little red double ~, only if it is set to always show. Which I have set for designing a world with my own parameters. I just jump volcanism to 200, and every world location will have at least one volcano pipe. Then it's just finding one near a source of water, sand, and good stone...
