I'm not at all familar with these items, is this the DS version?
I've only seen the Sight Spell in pre-DS makes allow you to see your surroundings from an airship's point-of-view, most useless spell in the history of Final Fantasy.

What are these mines then? I've played SNES, PS1, and GBA, and never encountered these I don't think.
The sight spell/item is pretty useful when you don't have a world map and need to see what's ahead :p

Well I found it useless, the world map isn't really that hard to figure out in my opinion.

I didnt have a reference and found my way around fine. Some people remember things differently I guess =/
