    Could have been better.

    Poll options are still inconsistent!

and IDNAN, that really looks like someone else in your household was using your internet connection while you ran the test. That would skew the results a lot.

    I don't see what you're getting at.
The first is from my home, and the second is my connection in my appartment at university
I made one myself for a change! Although you can probably tell that..

The one where the download speed is lower than the upload speed.

Well the router is plugged into the PC, and I have an ethernet cable from the router to my laptop, so that could be it?

Does anyone else use your home network, though? He was just saying that if someone else was online at the same time on the same local network, it would skew the results negatively than if you were the only one using it. Though that would be basically irrelevant if other people are always on the same network, since that would then be accurate of the connection speed you'd usually have.

Um, why? A FLAC wouldn't be more than like 500 or so megs.
A CD-quality FLAC (44kHz, 16-bit) wouldn't. But the advantage of vinyl is that it offers far more sound quality than CDs do, at least if it's new, and so the vinyl rips I download are generally made at better than CD quality. This particular rip was 96 kHz and 24-bit.

Oh, and here's my speeds from work. Not that fastest, but we're talking of bringing in a direct pipe soon.

And if I speed test from Houston, TX to a server in Ulan-Ude, Russia, here's my results:

And once last test from Nuremberg, Germany:

Trust me, on a decent sound setup there's plenty of difference, mostly because the dynamic range of a cd is comparatively limited to that of good analogue (or better digital). Granted, most people's setups probably aren't good enough to notice the difference.
