You should really get the first one. Covenant is a very direct sequel. You'll get a new appreciation as to how Yuri and Kato arrived at the point they did in Covenant.

I adored everything about this game - I think it's the game I've spent the most time playing, not sure though. I loved the music, the story and especially the characters - some of which were just completely insane, but you just had to love them anyway!

I have all three of the games in the series (Soon to get Koudelka for Christmas) but I've only completed the second thus far. I look forward to completing the other two sometime soon.

Oh and I guess my favorite piece of music from the game would have to be the music thats played on the menu screen right at the start - I just can't remember what its called and I'm too lazy to look for it on my ipod.

Koudelka is... uhm. Well. I LOVE the story. The story and the cutscenes are really awesome and I'm a fan of the voice acting too!~ I didn't like the battle system so much. :< Buuuut, that's alright. I hope you keep us update on how you like it!

And yeah, I highly suggest playing the first Shadow Hearts. I think the second game picks up from the 'bad end' of the first game? I'm pretty sure that's how it worked.

The music is <3! too. I really loved the ranking system ... like how you'd get a grade for how well you're doing. Furthermore, I love the details about all the items and monsters!

I think my favorite "badass" moment is the Amon scene, where Yuri beats the smurf out of an airship and Rasputin.

oh my God! everything involving Rasputin was just so incredible!

Really good game, actually. I remember playing it and enjoying it quite a bit three or four years ago. I don't recall much of the game now except that it reminded me of the PS1-era Final Fantasy games. Maybe I'll try it again once I can track down the friend who has my copy.

That was my problem at first, fortunately I found a used version of Covenant for $40

it took me years to find all three games in stores, yes i searched shelves for them, SH1, i found it two years ago, can you say impossable.

Kurando's fusion seamed very spiritual to me, where as yuri's seamed rather demonic.

I love how the games (1 and 2) prey off of ancient religious texts about the seven seriphim that fell from heaven, and the 8th, the fallen angel Asteroth.

Asteroth- sadness
Asmodeus- Lust
Amon- wrath.

and then the 3rd game took its fusion basis from indian spirits

Tatanka- the great buffalo (plains indians)
thunder bird- hunter of the whales (qualete indians)
la'serine and the final im not to sure on about there history.

the final boss in 1 simply amazed me (SPOILER)meta god, the blief that all religions exist. (thats mine btw =P)
