Thread: Who is your favorite artist?

    Who is your favorite artist?

Although I appreciate alot of Michelangelo's work, my favorite artist has to be Rembrandt. Seriously, the way that guy could introduce contrast into his paintings was incredible. And that's not even started on his sketches, which were also amazing. I remember as a kid trying always trying to emulate his style. Who was your favorite artist(s) over the years? Or even more, who influenced you the most?

That's a tough question. Trevor Brown is pretty good. Stu Mead is pretty good.

I know next to nothing about the visual arts. However, I would have to say my favorite artist was either Vincent van Gogh or Vassily Kandinsky.

^^ There's some interesting work there.

For me it would have to be Yoshataka Amano who creates wonderous art that makes you feel at peace. a lot of his work also ha s asense of wonder like the concert or slight edginess like his FF artwork.

Another artists work I enjoy if we're just talkign visual artists then I'll add Borris Vallejo to the list

    Julie Bell & Boris Vallejo

Ohhh, that's a really tough question. There are many artists out there that I really love and respect! - one I've always liked, though, is Vincent van Gogh.. but he's just one out of dozens of artists I dig.

Lately Mark Rothko has also made an impression on me.

Maxfield Parish. Not widely known or respected, but absolutely amazing to my eyes. His work is so enchanting.

    Also love John Waterhouse.

My favorite artist at the moment would most likely be Banksy and a tie for second place is Basquiat and Rauschenberg.

Third that. I really started liking him in High School, I was taking Spanish III and Art and they kind of overlapped with him.
