Yes, much of the series was AWFUL . . . however, the last episode of the show was absolutely perfect.
It was pretty good and made for the craving of more but alas the cancellation.
It made me want more, too. But, also it served as a perfect ending. Because it's sort of like it ends with the "beginning."
The season 2 finale of the West Wing (two cathedrals) is absolutely amazing.
It's the one where (SPOILER)Sydney finds out that Francie has been replaced by some other chick and they have this INSANE chick fight in their apartment. Syd kills Fake Francie and blacks out. She wakes up in freakin' Hong Kong and can't remember a thing. She goes to a safe house and meets Vaughn who tells her that she's been missing for 2 years. And then you see that Vaughn has a mothersmurfing WEDDING RING on his finger! Dun dun dun. I was a hardcore Syd/Vaughn shipper at the time, so the ending made me delirious.Please remind me of what happened in that episode. It's been a while since I've seen the show.
The finales of season 2, 4, 5 and 7 in Buffy are brilliant. Also, Angel season 2 finale. I love Lorne.
And Buffy Season 5 finale made me weep like a little girl. It was the most perfect ending I could have thought of for Buffy.
