    Default FFVI Advance

I got myself a copy of Final Fantasy VI Advance because my PSX copy of FFVI wouldn't work properly in my PSX Emulator. Is it me or is it a lot harder than the Snes version or the PSX ported version. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I don't remember much of a difference in the difficulty, but then again I was paying more attention to the new translation and updated script. I'm planning on playing through this version again over the holidays, so I'll have to see how the difficulty compares.

The updated script is definitely better the dialog makes more senses in a lot of places! But I do think it is harder not a lot harder but noticeably more difficult in places!

I noticed a slightly increased difficulty myself, and not just in the bonus dungeon.

Oh, the updated script... so lovely, and it finally got rid of the typos that drove me crazy as a kid and that the PSX port totally ignored.

I just beat this version again a couple of days ago, and I never really noticed any natural gameplay differences. What I mean is that the only real thing that made the game harder for me was that you can't use the Vanish/X-Zone trick. Not that I used it a lot, but still.

The lack of Vanish/X-Zone was something I missed when I first played it on GBA, but then I found it much easier to actually fight and level up, so it didn't matter. It also helps that I know what I'm doing these days

Dragons Den is a good challenge too.

Probably doesn't make the game naturally more difficult either, but the evasion bug got fixed too. So you can't just stack up on MBlock % raising equipment later on to be nearly invincible anymore.

I found the GBA version to still be fairly simple though, except for the Dragon's Den of course.

I actually found the original script to be more unique and poetic, though some of the mistranslations were rather annoying.

    Default Untitled... damn it.

Didn't the blind status get fixed too? So basically its just different cause of Evade being fixed and the outlaw of vansih/doom. This in which could make the game harder.

Apart from the fixes mentioned above I haven't really noticed any differences in terms of the games difficulty.

I found Floating Island to be harder but maybe that was just me.

I think the only part that turned out to be tougher was dealing with the Intangir and then the Dragon's Den.
