Since the year is coming to a close, I think it would fun to have an event showcasing what people loved about this year the most. The instructions are simple, just nominate once for each category below and send a private message to me with the title, "Best of '09 Nominations" before the deadline. Please be sure to include the name of the award and your nomination. For the Best Quote award, please include the quote and the person who said it. The only other rule is whatever you nominate must be from this year. If you're unsure if a game, movie, television show, etc. is not from this year, private message me and I will let you know or you can look that information up on IMDb -- otherwise it's fair game. You do not have to nominate for every category, but it's recommended you do so there's more to choose from in the voting phase.

Nominated. I think I played far more old games than I did previously... I couldn't really do anything for 2009 stuff so I had to leave it out altogether. x_x; 2010 looks like it will be a much better year for gaming.

I have a question, you say "Best Anime of 2009" but are we talking about things that have aired on TV in North America or series from the Japanese '09 seasons? Or both?

Could be both, or either or. It doesn't have to have aired in North America. Anything you nominate could come from various countries as long as it's from this year.

Just as a side note, because this came up before, when nominating Best Album you can nominate an album with just one song on it i.e. a single album. Most often, singles are released on their own albums and if you like a particular song, you can nom the name of that album instead of the studio album. Make sense? I hope so.

You can nominate DVD or VHS releases in 2009. I doubt many things get released on VHS nowadays, but just putting that out there.
