The Daytona 500 tends to fall in close proximity to both Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day (which is tomorrow), and around 1-2 weeks after the Super Bowl. Usually, the race falls between a couple days before or after Valentine's Day, but this year, it happens to fall directly on Valentine's Day.

My step-dad likes NASCAR. I have never understood it.

I know what it is; I've just never understood the appeal.
Now, I went to some local stock car races, and those were pretty badass. Shorter races and a MUCH greater chance for some epic wrecks (I once saw a car flip end-over-end three times in the air).
