I'm pretty upset about this. Okay so there are like no good brit fashion designers left now. Also he was only 40 which is like a baby in wrinkled leathery fashion crone diva terms. He was one of my faves
RIP.

He's a dude who made clothes for rich people. Apparently he was very good. It's not something I care about, though it's always a shame to see people who have a genuine talent die.
AwRIP.
He's one of my favorite designers. No, I've never owned one of his designs and unless I become super rich one day, I probably never will. But I appreciated him for what he was, an incredible artist and a visionary. The stuff he could do with clothes, it was awe inspiring.
Do you know of any particularly famous or brilliant work of his? It's difficult to get a good idea of what he's done when the first five million results on Google are about him dying.
Pretty much everything he designed was totally stellar. I hate the fact that I can only find bad quality clips of his shows! So I won't post any of them because you need HQ to see the quality of the clothes imo.
Well here's a clip of this hologram thing he did with Kate Moss which is more acceptable because it's part performance really.
I loved this one. Also there's his other collections down the bottom there.
Sort of summary thing
I really really thought he was wonderful. This is such a dreadful thing to happenThere'll probably be tonnes of tributes in the next month or so anyway, Quin, so if you're interested keep an eye out.
edit: just remembered something - Drew Barrymore wore one of his resort collection dresses to a premiere or something and like dyed the bottom of her hair, and I really thought she looked amazing. I think she wore it perfectly.

He certainly seems to have a talent for presentation, though my knowledge of actual fashion show fashion is limited enough that I can't see any major difference between his works and others.
Also directed Bjork's video for Alarm Call which was totally excellent. I seriously don't like Bjork's videos in general despite being a fan of her music but this was perfect.
God he was just getting more and more incredible every day. He could have done so much more. Arghghghghg![]()
Some people are just too sensitive for this world.
I have difficulty mustering sympathy for suicide. Especially when it is done by a fashion designer who I'd never heard of. It is sad for the person's family, especially since the thing on yahoo news said that his mother had died not long ago . . . so now because of his selfishness they've lost two members of their family.
Dick.
I don't understand this comment.
No one knows why he felt he had to do what he did, but I'm sure the death of his mother last week and the suicide of his close friend and mentor had something to do with his own suicide. And struggling with the deaths of two people he truly cared about doesn't make him over sensitive. :o I find suicide to be extremely tragic. I can't even imagine being in a mental space where nothing seems better than dying and for someone so talented to go there... I dunno, I find that very unfortunate.
Anyway, I liked his haute couture work cause they were these amazing artistic creations, not so much wearable clothes.
So gorgeous.
What makes this the worst is that I genuinely feel that he was irreplaceable and had absolutely not reached the peak of his talent.
