-Definitely getting KO'd and starting from the last checkpoint when you're really immersed. Absolute worst is getting LV.2/3/5 Deathed or some other bull.

-Most mazes during which every screen is near-identical and only a specific sequence of exiting the screen gets you to the destination. Hate that . Not interesting at all and the textbook example of tedious.

-Most of FFX's terrible voice acting. Every time I think I'm getting into it, Seymour, Cid, Yuna, or some voiced extra says a line. I really want/wanted to love this game, but it just won't let me. FFXII`s was much better, or at least way less awful.

-Also exclusive to FFX: restrictive paths. Linearity, not in the lack-of-a- vast-overworld sense, but in the sense that about a third of the way through the game I realized I'd essentially seen and done everything (ie: pushing forward down a straight line and occasionally solving painfully easy orb puzzles). In an RPG, expecting the unexpected is pivotal to the experience EVEN if it doesn't always deliver. Knowing/feeling that the developers have included very few surprises for the rest of the quest can kill the whole experience (a lot of games are guilty of this outside of FFX) - even worse is when your suspicions get thrown right in your face like a pie. Bevelle almost made me use the game disc as a coaster.
