New Found Glory do a few good covers, like Kiss Me and Lovefool, which can be more bareable than the originals
I made one myself for a change! Although you can probably tell that..

    Cake - I will survive

I hate the original version so much... maybe the most overplayed song of all time

I like Fiona Apple's cover of Across the Universe and Sally's Song.

Are you sure Far sung that? Far are one of the greatest bands ever and I've pretty much their whole CD collection. I do not remember this , they were post-grunge. Anyway Cascada? Seriously? That 'act' is probably the first thing I'd point to if someone asked me to show them one soulless, over-produced, under-talented act what disgusts you in the music industry.

I'm really not sure if you're joking here.

Just in case, "by far" is an expression. In this case it means they like that version of the song a lot more than the original.

Huh? I didn't even know there was a band called "Far".

Don't forget, the Soft Call version of Tainted Love is a cover too.

The original of Valerie isn't much good to start with, Winehouse's cover makes it even worse.

;} I think it's pretty great, at least when heard on proper speakers. Listening to it on my laptop makes it pretty meh in my opinion. And the version featuring Mark Ronson is terrible.

    sup guys

<a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gStGhm_qi98>"Pony" originally by Ginuwine. This is the best one I'm going to post.</a>

<a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH_IG5tB5pU>"Sympathy for the Devil", Guns and Roses.</a>

<a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upgejnlYgSE>"Optimistic" by Radiohead, sounds NOTHING like who it was covered by. </a> 8-)

<a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inpKD4vXxZ4>"I Don't Wanna Grow Up", not as good as the original but it's still good.</a> It's hard to top Tom Waits <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo4Y0TxW41g>dressed as the devil, riding a tricycle, playing a tiny guitar, and being Tom Waits.</a>

Also I didn't read the first page so I'll assume someone already posted Nirvana's cover of "Man Who Sold The World".

    And here's a horrible cover. <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5B1HqumqcM>Anywhere I Lay My Head.</a>

Not forgetting that Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar is (technically) a cover of a folk song, and that is awesome.

Arctic Monkeys - Love Machine is a good cover
Flyleaf - Stay (Far Away, So Close), mainly cause I HATE U2
I much prefer Jimmy Eat World's cover of Firestarter by the Prodigy.
Word Up - KoRn is better than Cameos.
And finally, Triviums cover of Iron Maiden is pretty good, not better than the original though. Maybe on par? Just like Machine Heads cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name.
I made one myself for a change! Although you can probably tell that..

I can't believe no one mentioned Guns 'N Rose's cover of "Knockin' on heavens door" by Bob Dylan.

Also anyone who mentioned Johnny Cash's Hurt deserves praise.

APC's cover/mesh-up of Love Song by The Cure and Diary of a Madman by Ozzy Osbourne is one of the most clever covers I've ever heard.

    link

Also, It took me a while to get into it, but I do like Sarah Blasko's cover of Flame Trees by Cold Chisel. It's probably not as good as the original, but it's different, and beautiful for different reasons.
