Just recieved my first badge. Playing at 5x speed. ^^
No screenshots right now, but I backtracked to grab the town map because I felt like it and caught Roadrian the Weedle. He has since evolved to Beedrill, and now I'm looking for a Clefairy because they are awesome. :vivi:
Anybody that has trouble with Brock, grind in the Viridian forest, Metapod and Kakuna give very nice exp and they can't hurt you, so if you throttle a bit it goes by very quickly. It got Roadrian from level 3 to 10 in about 15 minutes.
Also that is one hidden potion I know about lom, can you find the hidden one in Viridian Forest though?
Edit: Also everyone needs to remember that there is a very big mistake in the code from all generation 1 games. The psychic type is IMMUNE to Ghost type attacks instead of weak to them. Nobody is even near Sabrina yet but forgetting this will likely cause you a lot of pain when battling them, especially since Gastly is part poison so it has a weakness to Psychic as well.
That's why there's a challenge to not use any Psychic type Pokémon!
Quin is currently destroying hordes of pidgey on throttle (I've given up on caring if the game's music sounds write turns out its just my crappy computer xD). I'm going to go for catch all for your version, but leave "Capture 151" as that would be such a pain to emulate or cheat xD
EDIT: Other than that I'll go for things like "Complete the game without using any Psychic-type Pokemon", maybe "Complete the game without using healing/recovery items. No Potions, Ethers, Status Recovery items, or Revives.", and probably things like "Beat the Elite Four with only 1 Pokemon in your party (does not have to be the first time)" and "Get your entire party to lv. 100 (NO RARE CANDY GLITCH)" with proper throttling.

Poké Ball Challenges
Complete the game (Collect all badges and beat the Elite Four)
Capture Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and both Snorlax
Capture Kangaskhan, Chansey, Dratini, Tauros and Scyther/Pinsir from the Safari Zone
Beat the Elite Four using unevolved Pokemon (this also includes Pokemon that never evolve)
Construct a party that can use a move of every type in the game
Get one Pokemon to lv. 100 (NO RARE CANDY GLITCH)
Pokerap Team. Assemble a team of 6 Pokemon in sequence from the Pokerap, and beat the Elite Four with it.
Master Ball Challenges
Beat the Elite Four with only 1 Pokemon in your party (does not have to be the first time)
Catch Mewtwo with any ball that is not the Master Ball.
Special Challenges
Find and capture Missingno.
Beat the Elite Four with only Missingno.
Find 'Glitch City'
Successfully perform the Mew glitch, and capture it

I've just beaten Lt. Surge. Boy was that Raichu of his hard with its Mega Punch and Mega Kick. It's also fast, like all Electric types are.
I've gotten Mr. Mime, though I'm not using him due to "No Psychics". And I've gotten all the RBY starters.
I plan on using Pikachu through the entire game as well, and not evolve him into Raichu.
If you're playing Yellow version, you can't evolve Pikachu, anyway. It won't let you.
The Safari zone challenge is missing Tauros!
No one cares about Tauros!Fiiiiiine I'll add it
Also if you are playing Yellow it is possible to get Machamp even if you don't have the patience to do what I am and have an emulator that lets me trade. There is a trainer that will trade you his Machoke for a Cubone.
Oh balls. Pikachu just forgot Thundershock for Quick Attack. Stupid arrow keys. Now my electric Pokémon has NO ELECTRICITY.
You can beat the whole gym with just a Dugtrio.
