Default Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer and other stuff you might find important.

So, at the European Gamers Summit, news came out about games. It birthed this:

    Article+Super Mario Galaxy 2 Trailer

Also, yesterday at Nintendo's event, there was a playable demo of Metroid Other M, and now we know how the game is played. Here's IGN's hands-on with it. Sadly, Metroid Other M currently has no set release date for Europe. However, there is an official teaser site-up, and just like with XENOBLADE and The Last Story, it also has pretty music to a still-image. You can also hear Samus' new voice actor. Clickity-Click.

While Metroid Other M has no European release date, Sin and Punishment 2 does, set at May 7th 2010. In the U.S., it's set at June 7th.

    Furthermore, toast.

Anyway, some people are speculating that Mario Galaxy 2's hub will be the Mario head because the cover art has a steering-wheel on top of the Mario head. I'm curious how that's going to work out.

What are some interesting things you have heard about out of Nintendo's Media Event and the European Gamers Summit?

You said that Europe doesn't have a release date? in the article you posted it says June 11. Trailer looks cool and gets me excited for the game, though it's not doing something entirely new, but it will surely have some great level design like its predecessor.

    That's the U.S. release date, I think.

Edit: Correction, June 11 is the release date for Super Mario Galaxy 2 in Europe. It's Metroid: Other M which has no European release date yet.

It looks exactly the same as the first one, except with Yoshi.

    WANT.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. It looks eerily similar.

That Mario Galaxy 2 trailer looks *awesome*. The first game was so amazing, expanding on it with some new levels and powerups is good enough for me. The extra addition of Yoshi makes it extra super amazing.

I really want to see a new trailer for Metroid: Other M. The hands-on impressions I've read so far have me super impressed. They're taking a really creative approach to mixing the traditional 2D Metroid gameplay with the Prime-style FPS view, and I'd love to see it all in motion. I can't wait for it to come out in June.

Agreed! When they first showed the game at E3, I had no idea how the implied merging of perspectives could actually work with the Wii. Now it seems so head-slappingly simple. Leave it to Team Ninja, I guess. Their work on Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the DS sports a Nintendo-level hardware wizardry.
Currently playing: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

It's funny how the trailer actually had a lot of gameplay, and we just couldn't tell.

Gonna admit...in both this trailer and the one previous... after all of the teasing in the music when it finally boils over and starts the Gusty Garden music I am spontaneously overcome by tears.
