Was just reminded of this yesterday, but there's an Evangelion fan comic (doujinshi) called EVA: RE-TAKE that is so good, it could be canon.
Doujinshi doesn't necessarily mean pornography, if you were concerned. Although, RE-TAKE is definitely 18+ material (hence, no link).
