Bow before the mighty Javoo!
Just beat Hecatoncheir. I don't know who to choose for my party! I always use Fang and Lightning, but I'm torn between Hope, Vanille and Sazh. Hope is really strong but he totally cramps my style with his lame-ness. Vanille doesn't seem to fit in very well yet battle wise, and her constant orgasms are driving me crazy. Sazh is generally quite weak but he is a good Synergist and he fills the gap in my party well, whilst being much cooler than Hope is. I will probably go with Sazh. Any suggestions?
Depends if you want cool or if you want good tactics etc.![]()

For cool, go with Sazh.
For tactics, I'd recommend Hope.
EDIT: actually, with Lightning and Fang, there are legitimate concerns with using Sazh because then Lightning will be your only healer without spending a ton of CP (Sazh is Com/Rav/Syn, right?). I also use Lightning and Fang, and I chose Hope so I could use him as a main healer (with Lightning as backup) and a Synergist.
I think you should go with Sazh. Like you said he's a good SYN and that was pretty much his role 90% of the time for me. He may be weak compared to Hope in the magic category but he has much higher health and if you're only using him as a SYN then his magic/strength weaknesses don't matter. That's just me though.
Edit: My party comprised of Light/Sazh/Vanille though.
So I decided to go with Lightning/Fang/Hope, but when I sidetracked to do some missions I thought I would give Vanille/Sazh/Snow a go. Turns out that those three together are actually really effective, so I've decided that I'll alternate between the two different parties. I think I'll use Light/fang/hope for story and the other three for missions.![]()
So Oerba is really awesome. Great atmosphere, great music, great everything.
Oerba: (SPOILER)Holydoes Vanille's pet robot give you a freaking mountain of gil. I maxed out stage 2 of Fang's and Hope's weapons with plenty leftover (I'm waiting for Lionheart for Lightning).
End Chapter 11 boss: (SPOILER)So you've been given the "overplot" to the game in two conversations with this guy, and he just tells it to you. Is it just me, or is that lazy-ass writing? Not a terribly difficult fight, just lengthy as usual. Also, FINALLY a crystarium expansion. I had a few hundred thousand points to spend, and in one go got all the useful new abilities available. Also, WTF at that stupid Cie'th stone lying back down; I thought it was going to be a very convenient teleporter.![]()
Is there a way to get back to Pulse from Cocoon before endgame? I probably should go all the way back to Oerba's teleporter to do some more missions and stuff.
It is. Plus the broken Cie'th stone will reappear. (SPOILER)It is the final mission against Venshingetrix, the 15 Million Hit Points Cie'th in the ruins of Yashas.
ch11I was going to save up a million CP on Snow for the lulz and now they've forced him into battle with almost that much unspent and smurf smurf smurf!
Haha, yeah, my thoughts exactly. I went on just to see the next cutscene and got as far as that battle before restarting (I returned to the Central Expanse area to do more side stuff). Maybe if I grind some I can beat it with just Odin, else I may have to actually spend Snow's CP and level up his weapon. Which would be lame.
I use Lightning, Fang, and Hope, and I think all three of my characters have Stopaga... on three different roles. O_o
