    Um, yes you can. It's completely possible to switch gears without using the clutch.
    Let me just clarify my view on cars.

    Manual = Using a clutch to change gears etc. Man cars
    Automatic = everything else

    So owning a automatic driver license shouldn't really be put in your manly list. Every 12yo can drive that way.

    Uh he doesn't mean like that. At a certain level of revs, you can switch gears without using the clutch at all in a manual car. Or so I hear, I've never actually done/seen it.

    This! Exactly this. I learned how to do it rather well a couple of years ago, I was rather proud of myself.

    Basically you could just pop it out of gear hit the RPM required and pop it right back into the next gear without ever touching the clutch.

    Suburb in Sydney that wins this thread.

    I remember finding this funny when I first realised the double-meaning it could have, but I've since become so used to thinking of Manly as a location that I didn't make the connection at all until I looked at this thread again.

    I am a second Degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo.
    Stemming from the above comment, the weapons found in my bedroom are five swords (Two wooden practice, two bamboo and one steel), a Bo staff and two pairs of Nunchaku. I am able to use the Nunchaku properly too, which means I don't hurt myself when using them. I use two at a time. (They are surprisingly hard to use. People who are not trained with them tend to beat themselves up with them)
    I can eat a board of Matzoh plain. (Matzoh is a giant saltine cracker but it's dry without the salt part.)
