    I've never thought of it as rock really... more well reggae. As it's own genre. o.o

    This is a really interesting question. I am inclined to say no because (from my limited understanding) reggae music relies heavily on syncopation whereas the defining characteristic of rock music is straight 4/4 time.

    Reggae is all about the bass. Tis not rock. Has more in kin with hip hop.
