Because my Formula One thread was a big, fat flop, I've decided to open up the range of discussion to incorporate all motor racing.

Here's a bit of a resource to get us going. The Castrol Driver's Rankings provides a complete list of professional drivers and ranks them according to their performances in the last 12 months. I like it because it compares drivers from different series though I do disagree with the weightings of some series against others, but it's still an interesting place to check out if you're like me and you like to imagine how a Jimmie Johnson would fare against a Michael Schumacher in equal machinary.

Who do you think is the best driver in motor racing today?

I only kind of follow F1, but haven't in a couple of years to be honest so I'm not really up on how any of the drivers are doing lately, or any new blood that may be out there. I think the last time I really followed it fairly closely was during Michael Schumacher's last season with Ferrari. Have to say I'll always be a fan of his since his crazy run during the early part of the decade, especially 2004. Though I may be biased because I love Ferrari's.

    I'm a NASCAR fan.
    Is that your final answer?

My dad has tried for years to get me into NASCAR and stuff, and I just can't. Sitting for over 3 hours watching cars drive in oblongs and occasionally getting into cool crashes just bores me.

Once Dale Jarrett, as my dad says 'betrayed Ford and sold out and now drives a dumb import car', his interest seems to be pretty much gone too, fortunately.

My dad's a total gearhead though and tries to explain how cars and machines work, and it always seems to go over my head.

All of that said, I'm not a fan of motorsports.
