I've been thinking about it and I hereby disagree with Shlup's timetable!
We all know they will think it is a joke at some point. I think the tipping point will be Kanno. We can still sell hero's as real because of the groundwork he laid in that thread and Raistlin swallowed it. So basically it's going to be 3 weeks of quittings with "YEAH WE GET IT, IT'S A JOKE" and it's gonna drag on and be kinda lame.
So I think basically we save the rest of the quittings for the last week. And totally ham it up! Come up with crazy wacky reasons for quitting, go all out, cause pretend drama and make it obvious that we're dicking about. Because of how obvious (and different to the earlier ones) our quittings will be, they'll believe the earlier ones are real.
That's when we spring the re-knightings on them. Mullet, Hsu, foa, and maybe *snip*. Now, we can either re-knight all of us and say "ha ha ha the entire thing has been planned for a year!" or re-knight some of us and confuse them as to what was real and what wasn't.

I was a bit concerned as to how we would keep it interesting after people start figuring it out and spreading the news. I think that's much better!
