Thread: They should put Tim Burton in the Bond 23 director's chair!

Default They should put Tim Burton in the Bond 23 director's chair!

I actually wanna see how freaking badly Tim Burton could muck up the current James Bond franchise with his crappy directorial talents. He can't do much worse than Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day...Or can he?

    MWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Either way he can't much damage because Daniel Craig will be in it regardless of whose directing. Because Craig had a deal with EON.

If Tim Burton directed the Bond franchise, Johnny Depp would always be Bond, Helena Bonham Carter would always be the Bond girl, and the settings would always look like Dylan's Candy Bar, except on a bad trip and at night.

idk the Bond franchise could use a revival and this would be amusing but I'm not sure he's the guy.

Then again if he were forced out of his element he might do something new!

I dunno if Tim Burton is capable of original thought anymore. I'm starting to think there's a similar Family Guy manatee tank full of idea balls mechanism for Tim Burton, except all bloody and misfit themed.

It’s too bad that EoFF doesn’t have a thread rating system, so I could warn my fellow members to stay well away from this one.

You don't get it do you? You just don't get it. Daniel Craig has a four film contract with Eon productions and he's only done two films so far. If Tim Burton were to take over for Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace director) right now Craig would still be James Bond because you just can't say "smurf a contract" and do you whatever the hell you want. That's why The Kingpin was never in a Spider-Man film because by contract the movie rights to The Kingpin belong to 20th Century Fox.

I just think it's retarded to say that Johnny Depp will be Jame Bond if Tim Burton takes over because Daniel Craig's contract hasn't smurfing expired yet. Craig's contract expires after Bond 24. Which is only two films away.

To seriously reply, I haven't seen a James Bond movie since Goldeneye. My picture of James Bond is always one of the older Bonds, not the newer ones, so I'm not sure how much I'd like the new movies, regardless of who directs them.

She wasn't talking about Bond in any way. She was talking about Tim Burton and how all his movies are exactly the same, and that he would ultimately turn Bond into the same thing as well.

On another note I don't recognize the new ones as Bond movies. They're great, but they're not Bond.

Well I don't really recognize the Roger Moore films as Bond movies because they're just too smurfing goofy. It was like watching a saturday cartoon done in live-action when Moore was Bond IMHO.

    But it was a joke...
Living up to your sig, at least...that makes two of us.

I've never liked or disliked Tim Burton but he seems to be in everything, best if he leaves Bond alone. I disagree that the franchise could use a revival, I enjoyed the last two films. Especially Quantum of Solace.

    NO NO NO NO NO!!

I love the Daniel Craig Bonds. Burton is a talentless hack who can only direct goth movies.

I think you need to learn the difference between 'someone making a serious suggestion' and 'someone making a joke suggestion'. I have more chance of directing a Bond film than Tim Burton does.

And to call Burton a talentless hack is ridiculous, his work post-1999 is largely nowhere near what went before, but talentless hacks don't make Beetlejuice, Batman/Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood.

Burton is past his prime, but he did do some great stuff. He's like an NFL running back in his 30s.

I don't think he should do Bond. I also agree that the new Bond movies, while good, don't feel like Bond.
