Most video game companies handle the above scenario by releasing a free, mandatory patch that updates the video game with the minimum amount of data required to support viewing the locked features.

I purchased the game yesterday and I decided on my team. I am not used to playing a Marvel vs. Capcom game, so I worry that there will be a severe learning curb since I come from the Street Fighter Alpha series.
