    Default Ultima weapon

Well, i've 'beaten' him three times, the last was near the nibel mounts. But is there an easier way to find him, cause i've just been following him for more than ten minutes and i cba anymore :(, can i save and quit, and then he'll appear somewhere?

I'm not sure if you have to battle it a certain number of times or not; I don't remember. As for finding it, it flies around randomly I believe, so your best bet is to just ride around in the sky until you catch a glimpse of it and chase it down. I'm fairly sure you must ram it a certain amount of times before it will stop for you to battle it. Usually, you can tell when it's flying somewhere specific because it won't change directions. There are specific locations it tends to stop (Mt. Nibel, Temple of Ancients, etc.) but I'm not sure if the places it stops are the same every playthrough or not, either.

Restarting the game may reset its location but I don't think it would help since you'd have to load up and board the Highwind giving it time to randomly fly off in some direction you'd have to chase down anyway.

Best bet is to travel to the places he goes to rather then chase him. If you chase him ram him or just try to keep up with all the turns he does. He will soon find a place where you can fight him. If you just go to the places he goes you will find him sooner or later.

In order to make Ultima Weapon go to Cosmo Canyon, you must deal a total of 80.000+ damage to him throughout the battles (this includes the mandatory fight in Mideel). And he usually escapes from battles after about 3-4 turns.

AFAIK you can't reset Ultima Weapon's location by reloading. I once tried killing him on CD2, but he flew to Midgar and I had to complete CD2 before I could kill him

So just keep battling him (or just use KotR), in the final fight, he only has 20.000 or less HP.

The more damage you deal to him per battle the faster he will go to Cosmo Canyon obviously meaning there will be less battles with him.

If I was like Cloud I don't think I would have taken that test.

Midgar, Fort Condor, Corel, Mt. Nibel, Gongaga, Mideel, Northern Crater.

While flying, it is necessary to crash into Ultima WEAPON, no matter what other people say. You have to fly into it 4 times so it will decide its next location.

And whatever Cactuar says with his numbers, is wrong. It is proven Ultima WEAPON lands after 4 times you've hit it. It is programed that way, so no 1/36 chance.

There is no easier way. If you enter a town there is a 1/24 chance that he wont land, no matter how long you are in the town. If you hit him, there is a 1/36 chance of resseting his random landing counter. In other words, you pretty much should just stay on the world map and collect items while he flies around, and every now and then check his favorite places to land which can be any place with a reactor, or cosmo canyon, if he lands by cosmo canyon, your done. If you do over 70,000 damage in a fight [use knights of the round], then he will have 3 times as likely a chance to land quicker, OR [not and] go directly to cosmo canyon. Dont forget to steal from him in one of the arial fights. If you use knights of the round, he will probobly die in one hit, but may have up to 28 thousand left in hp, assuming you are at least level 30
