    Default Logic

I couldn't really of given a rats piss about the plot so wasn't interested enough to spot any logic flaws concerning that. But a few other bits bothered me

The Adamantoises have chains around them... who put them there?

The archylte steppe is a dangerous place, but why would wolves be attacking behemoths? Wouldn't they prey on chocobos? And why are their teeny sheep... surely they're sitting ducks to just about every monster living there?

Has anyone else found any logic flaws?

Didn't you hear? Behemoths taste like cotton candy. It's really a tasty treat.

It seems to me that chocobos and sheep aren't really around enough for the eating. Behemoths are. I don't know about the chains though, and I never really get the whole "I'm a biological being that looks like a robot" thing that JRPGs tend to be into.

The whole RPG schtick of ATB bars is a bit of a logic fail. We're just all used to it now.

Default You presume those monsters were slaves

at one point...presumably on Pulse by the previous rulers before civilization there collapsed...

Behemoth Steaks are one of the most sought after foods in Final Fantasy (I know they are mentioned as such in FFTA2, and I think in a couple of the other games as well). Rich in nutrients, and with a delicious taste, they are one of the greatest prizes of taking down the large beasts. It is small wonder that other creatures would find them equally appetizing. Since you get so much for a single kill and they are so high in nutrition, it is small wonder that they would be considered worth the risk for pack animals.

Oh, wait, Behemoths in XIII are mechanical.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

Chapter 5... ishNo, MECHANICAL Behemoths in FFXIII are mechanical. Each mechanical monster has a coexisting feral creature.

And said creature is usually much stronger. Go technology!

Taming something doesn't necessarily make it stronger. I don't know about you, but I'm much more afraid of a feral dog then one on a leash.

I thought finding the same enemy later in the game, only technologically enhanced and much stronger was a widely accepted fact by this point in game development history.

Having the semi-mechanical enemy as weaker just seems... wrong.

It does make more sense than hacking and jumping around all day without ever getting tired.
This twenty-year-old boy was distinguished from childhood by strange qualities, a dreamer and an eccentric. A girl fell in love with him, and he went and sold her to a brothel...

It is my understanding that these things can live for hundreds of years if not killed, and with that in mind I believe they were once tamed and used by the people of Pulse. Although it would be some impressive feat, considering most people would die when they stomp their feet.

As for the behemoth thing - lions are known to hunt larger prey on occasion as a group, as are hyena and wolves. However, who's to say that they aren't protecting their territory from a behemoth which has wandered in? That's entirely reasonable.

    Imposhibibble! Imposhibibble!

Yeah I figured they'd previously been enslaved by the Pulse people and are long lived. And maybe the Pulsians had cast the (now long forgotten) 'Mini' spell to solve the stompy feet problem
