I get emotionally invested in sports. Sue me. The best team my country's ever produced just nearly got screwed out of advancing in the biggest sporting event in the world. Excuse me for being pissed.

Hey I can understand that, and who knows I might be the same before the end of the world cup, but everyone always needs someone to pull them out of that victim mentality.

I can't see Germany being runners-up, the most likely outcomes are either they win the group (by beating Ghana and assuming Serbia don't thrash Australia) or they go out (if they don't beat Ghana they have to rely on Australia getting a draw or win off Serbia, which is possible but not sure it will happen).

Same, I see Germany either being on top or failing to qualify.

Same as it ever was really, 2006 apart the English commentators and pundits are usually loath to ever give Germany credit for anything in a major tournament (but then that's the traditional rivalry for you!).

One of them's Welsh! And tbh they've actually been pretty fair to the Germans. Said it would be unfair to send Lahm off for his handball just because it would ruin the spectacle.

Been entertaining football so far, although I've noticed both Ghana and Germany like to dive and play up any physical contact, and if either of them end up playing (and subsequently beating, as seems likely) England, you can bet they will be absolutely villified in the English press for it.

Yeah but if England go out the English press are going to find a scapegoat anyway, whether it's Capello, one of their own players, the officials or an evil cheating foreigner(s).
