    Default Progressive Scan?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to find any posts about it.

Does FFX run in 480p widescreen?

I'm buying a used PS2 to finally play this and FFXII and want to know if I should get component cables right away or if I can wait until I'm finished with FFX.

You don't need component cables for 480p, and no games use progressive scan without implicitly stating that they are, because far from all TVs are (were) able to do progressive scanning.

Get component cables anyway though, it improves the picture quality for all games by quite a bit.

I'm also pretty sure this question hasn't been asked before, most people don't worry about things like these

How you enable progressive scan is entirely up to the game developers. There is no standard method to enable it. Soul Calibur 2 asks you each time you start the game, for example.
