And people don't talk about it so much, but Minish Cap is one of my favorite entries in the series. I beat that game in one weekend, barely taking breaks to eat and piss. Yall should play it if you haven't.

Lately I've been playing Farcry 2, as I'd picked it up on the Steam summer sale and never really played it too much before. It's a good game, but definitely overambitious with the attempts at realism. The game would be better if they just scrapped the whole malaria thing, completely.
Minish Cap was actually the first Zelda game I played as a kid, and it's still quite possibly my favorite of all zeldas. That game is just a lot of fun to play. The artstyle and color pallet is vibrant and appealing to the eye, the controls are very fluid and work perfectly, and the combat is simply a lot of fun.
Though I don't think I've ever gotten all 20 hearts on that game before due to how difficult it can be considering the time restraints on certain fusions.
    Eyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. It's basically Fallout 1 and 2 but Victorian Fantasy. It's epic in some areas and frustrating in others. The plot, character progression, and world is excellent. The combat, interface, and party members are terrible.

Overall a solid game if you're patient. I recommend it.

Just picked up Dragon Quest VI again after a few months and where I'm at in the story was a good place to come back to. Hoping this sucks me back in again as DQ games have all done so far.

What weapon setup are you using? I love FC2, despite it's (many) flaws. xD
The thing about malaria, like weapon jamming, is that it creates these moments where it completely removes the player from their subconscious state where they're not actively thinking, just kind of reacting to the gunfights how they instinctively do in an FPS. It destroys that and randomly creates this scenario that you need to deal with before you can keep playing. It's this kind of dynamic, progressive storytelling and it's part of what separates Far Cry 2 from other shooters, even other open-world, open-ended shooters.

Still playing Silent Hill 2, I must say I have really mixed feelings about it but I'm at the historical society. Have I ever mentioned I hate RE puzzles? You know where I have to collect arbitrary items to do simple tasks like unlock a door? I mean at least SH's setting makes this kind of stuff more understandable than in RE, but it doesn't make it any less annoying to do. I'm really liking the atmosphere and story though. I'm finding myself honestly agreeing with Yahtzee that as a game, SH2 is utterly terrible and unfun but it has a great story and setting that just would not have worked as anything but as a game.

I may not have time for Fatal Frame before the month is out. I have ACIII to look forward to and afterwards, I feel I should finally tackle The Last Story.

Brutal Legend's stage battles have gone from cool to pissing me off. I wanna beat the game because I love the world and story but the gameplay is just not great. Like if there was a sequel it could be amazing, but the stage battles are all over the place and recently they've only been bridged by escort missions. Might read some guides on it to figure out how to power through but I'm getting a little tired of it - the story is seriously great though but a lot of the joke-y dialogue is forced (esp compared to the inspired script of Psychonauts).

I did start Planescape: Torment yesterday though and I kinda love it already. Hoping I get to spend more time with it.

Amnesia was going well for a few days but it's hard for me to get in the mood for it. A stressful day of work and real life is not well accompanied with a super stressful game. The narrative and progression is awesome though.

edit: I actually just looked at a FAQ and realized I'm like 2 missions out from beating Brutal Legend. Which explains why it's gotten so damn hard!

I will concede that that is true of weapon jamming; I love that mechanic in the game. And there's something seriously satisfying about when your character clears the jam. But I will not say the same about the malaria mechanic. It's much more abundant than weapon jamming (this simply being because you engage in simple movement far more than in armed combat), and for me it does the opposite of what you've claimed. Instead of immersing me in the admittedly well-crafted open world of FC2, I find myself saying "ah, ok, the screen is blurry again. Genius."

I see what they were trying to do with it. If it had been less frequent and had crept up on me from time to time a bit in the heat of battle, then I would be OK with it (even though I had previously stated that it should have been done away with completely). But as it stands, it only stands to annoy me when I'm trying to proceed from one area to the next.

SH2 got me hooked with the story so I didn't really mind the puzzles that much. Still creeped out to death by Pyramid Head to this day and the whole Maria fiasco.

I'm currently playing RE6. The recent RE games seem more like COD or Halo in zombie mode but I don't really mind the change of pace. If I wanted to get scared to death, I'd probably pick Amnesia anyways.

Played Amnesia at my friend's place and finished it. It is not a long game but the story progresses really well. Some parts of the game made me almost crap my pants, for example the Storage room..... I opened a door and a smurfing zombie was standing behind it.

    Really nice game. 9/10

Don't have any consoles here; playing SF version of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together on emu. Unfortunately, the menus glitch out whenever I want to buy something or equip something, so I'll have to work on fixing that.

    Mass Effect 3 with Kinect.

I love yelling at the screen. Sometimes it doesn't understand me and this happens:

    Me: "James frag grenade!"
    [nothing happens]
    Me: "James frag grenade!"
    [nothing happens]
    Me: "...James frag grenade !"
    [nothing happen]
Me: "James you smurfing suck balls"
James: "I'll get right on that"

    resident evil 6

    aww-yeah-meme.png

i just ended my first campaign (chris)
i love the game though the story is a bit weak (or starts late)
i was exited about how the characters meet, but in my opinion it doesnt really meen anything till near the end.

it took me a while to get used to the new 'gameplay' and i run out of bullets quit fast every time.

but overall im verry satisfied, despite the bad reviews the game got from other players
