Just completed Mario Wonder. It was not perfect, but it is the best 2D Mario since Yoshi’s Island. My 5 year old was really into it too.

Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
Dwarf Fortress. I only picked up within the last year or so, despite it existing for a bajillion years prior. It's so silly and fun, and scratches a lot of hyperfocus itches for me.
Currently playing some Pal World
Dwarf Fortress is soooooo good. The times we had in Towntwinkles and Spoonproblems remain with me to this day, and DF is still sitting pretty at #3 on my all-time top 100 games list.
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
Wife and I are rolling through Baldur's Gate 3 right now. There are a lot of things to do in that game.
I'm currently going through a bit of a gaming drought at the moment. I'll start something and just not be that into it and opt to do other things. I mean, it happens from time to time but I don't LIKE when it happens.
But right now I'm mainly just playing Doom mods here and there (Old school Doom, in case you were wondering). It's a fun time killer and some of the mods people come up with are so dang creative and fun.
So, one of the recent games I found myself playing wasn’t some blockbuster or indie darling – it was a browser game called “Snake Color Brake” that you can check out at https://snakecolorbrake.com. Now, before you roll your eyes, hear me out. This game takes the classic snake formula and adds a fresh twist. You’re controlling a snake made of balls, and your goal is to break through blocks by matching your snake’s color with the blocks. It starts off nice and easy, but don’t let that fool you – as you keep playing, the difficulty ramps up, and it becomes this intense, fast-paced challenge that really tests your reflexes and strategy. The endless mode is particularly addictive, pushing you to survive as long as possible while trying to climb the global leaderboard. What really got me was how accessible it is – no downloads, no sign-ups, just straight into the action. The colorful graphics are a nice touch, making it visually appealing without being overwhelming. It’s the perfect game for those moments when you just want something fun and engaging without the commitment of a big game. Simple, strategic, and, most importantly, a lot of fun.
