no they were just a bit brighter than before. i check my officemate's laptop and the fonts are not that bright. we have the same model. i installed something like grab text or capture text more of like an ocr to copy text from images and anything on my pc. would that be the cause?

great thanks i think it was clear type.. damn an i was wasting my time with system restore that failed for 5x!!
