I say watch them in order. If you don't watch the prequels first there are moderate spoilers.

Peddler of Nonsense.
RotS was alright but (SPOILER)"For reasons we can't explain, she has lost the will to live!" Really? Really? smurf off.
Anyway nobody will watch these because OH NO A LONG VIDEO!!! but I don't really care, I have to at least try to expose you to something as majestic as this. This guy made fantastic, witty and god damned insightful reviews of Episode I and II.
YouTube - Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Review (Part 1 of 7) (start here you can figure the rest out for yourself)
Can't wait for Episode III review.
The prequels sucked except for Revenge of the Sith, which was pretty good but not up to the standard of the original three films (the first two in particular; I could have done without so much of the Ewok puppet show in Jedi and to be honest, it was a pretty big hint of what was to come with Jar-Jar Binks in The Phantom Menace).
But yeah, I'd say to watch at least the original trilogy. They're probably not as great as some people say they are but they're still an integral part of film history and a lot of popular culture references won't make as much sense if you haven't seen them.
You definitely need to see these films Mel, if not the prequels then the originals for sho!
Watch the originals, then the prequels, so you can appreciate how good the originals were and how bad the prequels are.
Episodes V and VI also have the infinitely awesome Imperial March. The most epic bad guy music in movie history.
Nah, I've known about this for a while. It's unforgivable but it's hard to punish her properly being 3000 miles away from her.
But uhh... YES! YES YOU SHOULD WATCH THEM! WHY WOULD YOU EVEN NEED TO MAKE A THREAD ABOUT THIS?
You watch them in the order they came out in. IV, V, VI, I, II, III. The prequels aren't that great but it all about the storytelling man.
II is probably the worst of them all though. If you can sit through that then you can handle the other two with ease. I is actually not as bad as everyone says it is. And we'll cover everything that is wrong with III when you're ready my young Padawan.
Spike plays them quite a bit but if you don't catch them before you come out here you can bet your sweet ass you'll be sitting though them with me.
I completely agree with Eric. :Wookiebert:
EDIT: Unless he didn't like RotS. It was good.
There are so many Star Wars reference all over our culture, the movies are worth seeing for that reason alone. Definitely watch at least episodes 4, 5, and 6.
The prequels do suck, though, all of them. RotS was only slightly more tolerable because it had more action, but it still had the same craptacular writing and acting as the others. Psy pointed out just one of the completely unforgivable moments in that atrocity.
WHY HAVEN'T YOU WATCHED THEM YET, MEL?! Watch them all, in the order they came out;
:vader: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
:vader: Episode V - The Empire Strikes back (1980)
:vader: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi (1983)
And then:
:vader: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
:vader: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones (2002)
:vader: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith (2005)
Because they movies are unique, and funny, and filled with colorful lightsabers and robots and creatures and drama and action of other wooorlds! :shoot:
No I love RotS, but there are some horrible parts in it. Like what Psy pointed out earlier, and the fact that (SPOILER)Anakin's fall to the Dark Side seemed to take a few days rather than the years it should have taken. Granted there were some years that we missed between films but with the addition of the god awful Ahsoka Tano to the Clone Wars cartoon it looks like we'll have to wait for her "shenanigans" to end before we see him start turning. There's more but I'd rather not let all of EoFF see how much of a nerd I really am.
Pretty sure we're not friends anymore.
