Topic: Do you or have you ever been the owner of a business or enterprise, or at least the boss of one? Discuss being the boss. Hell, let's even include virtual businesses (MMOs).

I have just started a new business, and it has so far been very lucrative, ever since Shlup showed a picture of her boobs in Feedback. I looked to capitalize on that exposure, so to speak, and it turned out fairly profitable, with over 120 votes and 3 Ciddies. However, I know she can do better next time and bring in more cash and votes, so I am starting to advertise in my sig.

EDIT: Due to the sheer volume of calls, and the fact that Shlup can't keep up with all of the clients due to her advanced age and resulting dryness issues, Raistlin Pimp Enterprises will hereafter be forced to limit its advertising to just this thread. Thank you for your patronage, and don’t worry – there will hopefully be another advertising spree for the next Ciddies.

I have a small business where I sell crafts and pouches, so I guess I'm my own boss in that respect. I sell stuff at work and I've made a decent amount already in the two weeks I've had it open. It's been really nice to see people responding so well to the stuff I make.

I run my own business and have for the past 4 years or so. Only about 2 years doing it full time though. It's half super duper awesome (I get to work in my pajamas!) and half, super duper stressful. The work never stops. If you're not actually doing the work, you're thinking about it, planning things out in your head, dreaming about it. Everything is on you. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Almost everyone in my family (and extended family) owns their own business. Entrepreneurship is kind of expected.

In sixth grade, I "started" Jume Inc. I never really went anywhere with it-- I guess I wanted to sell paper boxes I folded. But it was fun to use that as a copyright on subsequent class projects.

I would like to own my own business eventually, because I don't want to work for anyone other than myself. Unfortunately, my complete lack of drive and ambition prevents me from doing anything of the sort. Maybe I can just steal an already existing business from someone else.

Oh mine, I remembered during my school days we set up some stalls to sell random stuffs. And I will alway randomly give discounts and freebies especially to little kids. Now to think of it, I will most likely give my business away if I ever setup one.
