Thread: What does England mean to you?

  1. #31
Nope, thanks to American money and crafts. I still have not heard you admit Germany would have owned you if it was not for the Channel, Yanks & Russians.

  2. #32
Bad food, bad teeth, police state, and still being better than the French.

    Oh yeah, and Gordon Ramsay.

  3. #33
I am not British, but these are the things that come to mind:

    - Margaret Thatcher
    - Harry Potter
    - Scones
    - Tea

I know. Thatcher and Potter having tea and scones? Pretty creepy, if you ask me.

So, what does Britain mean to me? Well, I have a sister living there, but not much else.

DID YOU KNOW? There were more troops from the British Empire involved in D-Day than American ones! (thanks Canada, you guys rule)

Also, not admitting that because it's false. Germany wouldn't have been defeated if it wasn't for the Russian and Americans, absolutely not. But would Britain have been invaded? Would it bollocks! Germany tried, and they failed. And they failed before either of the two great powers got involved.

But yeah, I get it, Britain is the WORST COUNTRY EVER because of the ty stuff it has done in Ireland and therefore anything good it did never actually happened.

My Grandpa was part of D-Day

The battle of Britain was an unexpected loss to Germany. He then made his biggest mistake and invaded Russia. History's biggest lesson is you do not want to ever invade Russia. Napoleon also tried and failed a hundred thirty years earlier. In fact the only one to actually succeed in a war invading that area was Genghis Khan, and he came from the other side to invade.

Oh and as far as the naval side goes, the Royal Navy led that and the majority of the ships and sailors were British. Feel free to look up "Operation Neptune" if you'd like to know more.

Eagerly awaiting your next post insisting that the Nazis invaded Britain using giant mecha unicorns and it was only through the power of Michael Jordan's ace basketball skills that the British people were saved from being crushed into dirt like the filthy pigs that they are.

    Crazy Kid.

The Royal Navy was the biggest navy in the world at that time. However, if the channel was not there, it would not have mattered. Germany's navy was miniscule due to the Treaty of Versaille's restrictions.

But as far as landing craft and motherships FOR landinmg craft, they all had to be made during the war. They did not really exist before then due to their specialist role. These were mostly paid for by US dollars as Britain, was broke.

If I had to side with anyone then I guess 'd be a Russian. 'm a raging socialist. Not so far left that I wouldn't allow you to own your own tractors mind, but still. Anti Facist Anti Capitalist.
