Everyone here is terrible which is why nobody ever talks about Baten Kaitos despite Baten Kaitos being an amazing JRPG.
One of the many amazing things about it was the godly soundtrack that puts to shame most Final Fantasy scores.
BEHOLD!

FF soundtracks aside, I really enjoyed the Silent Hill franchise Soundtracks, particularly the ones from 2-4. The lead tracks from each title are perfect for the games!
All Final Fantasies, (FF7 if I have to choose one)
Xenogears is an overlooked game and the soundtrack is overlooked as well.
Brave Fencer Musashi has some weird connection with me![]()
And Sonic 2 has to be up there. Fun, epic, and nostalgic.
No time for "Dilly-Dallying" or "Shilly-Shallying."
Props go to the one and only, Proxy, for the signature.
Since apparently embedding a video wasn't working for me like all these fancy people ^

Literally just discovered this thread. Basically, anything from the Professor Layton series, particularly the ending themes. Absolute bliss! I have this on my Ipod Nano and listen to it to drift off to sleep.
Iris (Instrumental) - Professor Layton and Pandora's Box
Paxmaveiti (Instrumental) - Professor Layton and The Spectre's Call
Heavy Rain - Simplistic ballad. I like when movies compose a song and have different variations of it throughout the change of tone and scenes. Heavy Rain did this as well, and fit since it more of a cinematic story driven game.
Final Fantasy X - Really the real answer is basically anything composed by Nobuo is my favorite video game soundtrack, but in particularly I find myself listening to these songs slightly more so than my other favorite soundtracks, FFIX and FFVII.
Silent Hill 4 - A great score. I actually loved 2's soundtrack as well, but the diversity of this one was highly appealing. I love Akira's music; especially when he does lyrical ballads to break of the monotony of the instrumentals.
Phoenix Wright - Good for low bit music. I like some of their jazzier songs.
Absolute Nr. 1 is Final Fantasy VIII. No other game has such a great quantity of really good tracks. Skipping the rest of the FF games, the Ace Attorney series has some very catchy tunes as well.

(if you're not a fan of the slow build up it starts picking up properly around 4:20)
Whilst we're at I might as get some WoW up in here:
(even though that fight on heroic makes kittens cry)
(walking in for the first time and getting our asses handed to us whilst this was playing is still a moment of epicness)
(them feels)
(one of my favourites from all the expansions so far)
Whelp... that should give people enough listening for a while - and that's not even a complete list xD
