Aside from the Chocobo Racing stamina cheat, you use L2 to turn on the "Target" icon in battle and R2 to swap between the close and far camera on the World Map.

Why need an excuse to play them again? Just play them on PSX - if you loved them then, you'll love them now.

Score a point for the PSN/PSP versions. Recently I've been playing my original VII discs on my PS2 and the cutscenes skip and stutter. The gameplay and everything else is fine, but those glorious cutscenes just jerk along gracelessly. I'm considering stopping my playthrough to spare myself the pain of watching my discs' age catch up with them.

If I had a PSP, I would invest in about a dozen PSone classics, not including the FF games. But unfortunately the PSP isn't particularly impressive in other areas (its own games), so I'm wary of dropping $200 on what would essentially become a portable PS1. Persona 3 Portable sweetens things up a bit, but there are still a handful of great-looking RPGs for DS I need to play first (DQIX, SMT: Strange Journey, Infinite Space, etc).
