It was ok. Better than XII but still one of my least favorite in the series.

I thought Final Fantasy X's soundtrack was really bad, and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII's soundtrack was... decent, I guess, so I was quite suspicious of Final Fantasy XIII's soundtrack. However, I think Masashi Hamauzu finally got it right with this score. There's plenty of great tracks in the soundtrack, they're quite memorable and the production values are high, considering how many songs are fully orchestral or have vocals. It's hard to compare FFXII and FFXIII's soundtracks (or even the games), since they're so different, yet I enjoyed them both. My favorite tracks on the FFXIII OST are probably Final Fantasy XIII - Miracles and Born Anew. Oh, and I actually like Kimi ga Irukara.

I like the Sunleth waterscape track and my favourite is ''will to fight'' from the 5th ark. ff13 had rather an innovative OST considering the tracks from previous games. FF13 would be incredibly boring with out the more up beat and modern tunes.

Can't stand the Leona Lewis one mind, completly ruined the ending for me.

Even though this is not the game version, which was also awesome, but one that is a thousand times better. This guy is awesome.

It is hard for me appreciate some of the music from the game whilst playing it, I never really thought much of that track until I heard it out of the game. Amazing the sound you can get out of a bit of wood and strings.

I was chilling on Gran Pulse and this sweet jazz tune came on and I was like smurf yeah this is the life. This soundtrack hasn't embedded in my brain like previous ones, but that's not because it's bad by any margin. I love it, it's awesome.

This soundtrack sucks balls, especially that smurfing piano tune that keeps popping up everywhere in the game in one form or another.

I didn't really notice the soundtrack (with very few exceptions) in-game. However when I listened to the various character themes on YouTube, I fell in love with them. For me, voice acting and sound effects are too prominent in the later FF games and this detracts from the music that plays in the background. I wish this could be changed effectively without taking away voice/effects altogether, because I like them, too. D=

hope i'm not reviving too old of a thread here, please excuse me if i am, i apologize. . i just beat final fantasy xiii not long ago and wasn't crazy about the gameplay or storyline as much, but i really liked some of the tracks. my favs are

sulyya springs
chocobos of pulse
will to fight
menu screen theme

especially those last 2 tracks perfectly beautiful got the menu screen song as my ringtone it took the place of link to the past - dark world theme lol

Anyway, we're more lenient about the lower forums that don't get much activity. Usually if a thread is on the first page, you're okay. Also, I listened to Will to Fight in the car on my way to work this morning. It's great!
