Nuh uh! I was implying that my friend thinks he has a beer gut. I have never seen him shirtless, but he did wear a tight shirt a few times and yeah, it's there.

I think it's cool to see people with beer guts and pot bellies at the beach. They just don't give a damn and I can respect that.

I hate the beach. I loved it as a kid, but I think I had my fill. Swimming in the ocean just feels dirty. The sandy beach is dirty. Sand gets everywhere and follows you in your car.

Problem is, my wife LOVES the hell out of the beach. She always wants to go. Even when it was a 4-hour drive she'd want to go. Now it's only 2 hours. But we go, pay 10 bucks to park, then hang out on the beach for about 30 minutes, walk up and down the coast line barely getting in the water, and leave... 2 hours back. She doesn't even like to swim. She barely gets in the water. It's usually sweltering at Texas beaches and the humidity is miserable. If you're not in the water your cooking. We're both pale so we are lobsters regardless of sunscreen by the end. This is supremely satisfying to my wife and I hate it. It's probably the most discordant issue in our marriage.

The only bright side is us walking around scoping out hot chicks together. Sadly, half the time it's 250 pound, 50 year old ladies in two piece suits watching their overweight, inappropriately dressed grand kids play.

EDIT: Of course, we've managed to not go to the beach this summer, but my wife says I'm a douche for having not taken her. I guess I need to get around to planning a trip *grumble grumble*.

I dislike going to the beach because it puts you in great risk of skin-darkening. My arms aren't the same color as the rest of my body now.
