Best Final Fantasy Character Theme: FFIV Edition

The series has been known for its awesome characters and one trait that is sometimes overlooked is the characters personal Musical Theme.

So I decided to run a little tournament. There will be 8 preliminary rounds, one for each of the FFs with defined (or debated) character themes. Obviously, I can't really do the NES era titles as only the villains and a few NPCs have character themes but who knows, I might change my mind.

Also, for the most part, I'm not doing Final Boss themes so no One Winged Angel or Dancing Mad to contend with. These are specifically themes that play in the storyline before the ending. Some themes are also associated with characters which is why I went that way unless I felt it was too far fetched.

So we are starting with FFIV, vote for your favorite Character theme and be kind enough to talk about whither you agree or not.

Wow, Edge got screwed, huh? As I'm sure many people will, I chose the Four Fiends theme. How could you not choose the epic battle music? Yang's (Fabul)'s theme was a close second.

I had never thought of these pieces as character themes before. Hmm...well, I have to say, then, that IV has quite good themes. I like this whole "Best of character theme" thing -- I look forward to the others!

I like Hey Cid! It has an exclamation point! Real close with Rydia and The Four Fiends. But they lack excitement.

Wow, Edge got screwed, huh?

He just doesn't have a theme it seems, the themes that play when he arrives are usually Hey Cid! or the dungeon theme so yeah, he got screwed in the game I guess. Same happened to Tellah. Tbh, I feel saying The Lunarians is FuSoYa's theme is a bit of a stretch as well but it does mostly play when he's around except on Mt. Ordeals.

I also have a bit of an issue with FFV's contest as there is a bit of a problem on the subject of Faris' theme...

The Lunarians has always been a favourite but it's tough to choose between that, Cecil's, Kain's, or the four Fiends. I'll go with the Lunarians, but I'd rather choose all four.
