Also, it seems like if Raistlin is always timely he'll get to answer every question and not the team members, or am I missing something?

Once Raistlin gives his answer it moves on down the line to the other members of the team. If one of them gets it wrong or time runs out, the team receives a "strike". At three strikes earned, the other team has a chance to answer the question to "steal" the points earned away.

The rounds will always, to my knowledge, begin with Raistlin, but he will not be the only person answering the questions.

12 hours is a reasonable time if it is reasonable hours. For people on the east cost who have jobs, though, 1:00 AM-1:00 PM means they will not be on, unless they browse EoFF from work. Not everyone has the luxury of being online all the time.
