Thread: Ultimecia's Castle is my favourite final area in any final fantasy

Default Ultimecia's Castle is my favourite final area in any final fantasy

Does anyone else think so? I love the music that goes with it, the bosses are awesome, and it just looks so incredibly good, especially the clock tower. Literally, it gives me goosebumps when I first stand in front of it, and that song begins to play. I just love every moment of it; it's the reason why I play this game, to get to that incredible part at the end. I find it to be a reward aha.

Who else just simply adores this place

To be fair, I do tend to love the final areas in any Final Fantasy game I've played (they're always a high point), but I agree that Ultimecia's Castle is my favourite. Maybe it's just the look of the place, or maybe it's the great music theme, when the organ kicks in.

Oh man, I hated Ultimecia's Castle because unlocking all those abilities was a pain. I felt like I ran around the place five hundred times. I guess it's better than a lot of other last dungeons though.

It just plain creeped me out as a kid. Sometimes I'd mute the sound so it'd be less scary. Same with the music used at Centra Ruins (where Odin is).

The mood was great and the bosses were some of the best in the game. I kept enc-none on the whole time though. Fighting random encounters against bite bugs in the final dungeon is just...yeah.

Yep. It's really great. Reminds me of Castlevania. I love all the mini-puzzles and how everything fits together if you just use your head. Best experienced with ENC-NONE, but the ability locking makes random encounters interesting, too.

Thinking on it, the final areas of just about all of the FF games are great. Northern Crater, Kefka's Tower, Memoria -- all genuinely awesome.

Yeah, I really like Ultimecia's Castle. The big chains out the front, the big staircases, that sideways room, the room with the paintings, the organ... all great stuff. xD

It's awesome. Kind of a pain without Enc-None though xD

I felt it was a pretty awesome final dungeon and really cranked up the difficulty by making you fight for your abilites. The organ puzzle is fun as well. I also love that it brought back VI's tag team dungeon exploration.

It's definitely my favorite area as well. I'm into the horror genre, so it was an instant hit with me.

Will be great if I can find a toilet there though!
