    The band itself may claim that they didn't get the name from the game, but there's a band called Rival Schools whose first album was United by Fate. Can't be a coincidence at all.

    I'm a huge Rival Schools fan! They are in fact named after the game as is the album

    Midgar I believe were named for the city in FFVII. Heres a few more:

    The Chocobo Knights
    Resident Evil (it works as a metal band name straight up)
    Resonance of Fate (this too would work straight up)
    The Black Mages (duh who'd have thunk I'd post the squeenix band lol)
    Grand Theft Audio
    Sonic Tales
    Eternal Sonata
