Thread: Battle Theme I included in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Default Battle Theme I included in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

A minor tidbit, but still intereresting due to the little recognition FFII receives on a whole.

When he says he is playing the bass line from the battle theme of Final Fantasy II, it truly is the one from II (not IV). He plays it later on in a duel against the Twin Exes. I just got back from SPvsTW, so I thought I would just share this because I thought it was really cool they would reference this game as opposed to any of the more popular ones.

Hey at least its not as bad as the Charlies Angel making FFVIII a co-op game involving button mashing. Still this is pretty sweet.

I didn't mean to imply it was bad, I meant to point out they actually played a track from FFII and not the SNES FFII. I'm just amused cause it wasn't like the FFVIII cameo where people didn't do their research.

Ok, lol. "Not as bad as" sort of implies that both are bad, you know :p.

Are these passing references or is the battle theme actually played? Is there a YouTube video of it?

To be precise, it is the bass line of the battle theme. He plays it once when he claims he has mastered the bass line of Final Fantasy II's battle theme, then plays it later on in an amp battle.

As for youtube, I imagine it will pop up somwhere down the line.

But honestly, it sounds like it's really FFIV. They do start off similarly, after all.

In NA,FF IV was known as FF II
When we dance, it looks just like Fire.

When we sing, it sounds the same tone.
