I think the main reason should be him shaping it, looking all tidy and stuff. What's up with that?
I think Shorty has seen too much beard growth this week, her brain is fried and she's confused even herself!
As for me, no worries. I'm not in the competition, never was. It's simpler this way. Like I said I would never let my beard go all untrimmed/shaped for that amount of time though if you ask me the competition for best beard growth should really be 1 month (30 days) and whoever has the longest/thickest beard or whoever has the best beard (with shaping allowed) wins this whole 6 months thing is a bit extreme really and thats why I'm not entering not because I refuse to shave my beard off, or any of the myriad other reasons stated by others in this thread. I am refusing to be a part of this because I will not and have not ever gone all hobo with the beard and refuse to do so therefore shaving my beard off to join the competition is simply, not happening, If Shorty and the rest want to throw me in the competition as I am a week ahead of someone (basically like a late starter but the opposite, I would have to present a final photo before the rest did or like we should be doing after the same amount of days to be judged on) then fine so be it, not like I won't shape and trim so I wouldn't be in for long lol. I could tolerate a month maybe of hobo-ing it up before my compulsions would either make me shave clean or shape and trim but really 6 months? Sure it'll be funny but some of us have better things to do in those 6 months.
Do people not understand the rules? If anyone needs anything clarified to them, please let me know. I don't want anyone in participating in the contest to possibly feel discouraged or confused.
I have no idea where you're pulling this "six months" business from. The contest goes on as long as the contestants want it to. Prizes will only be issued if the contest lasts longer than three months - otherwise (aka, everyone drops out before three months is up), it's just "yay I kept my beard longer than everyone else" and no actual prizes are issued.
If anyone needs anything clarified or explained, pleeeease tell me. This is supposed to be fun!
'Knocked Up' exemplifies the PROPER way this contest should be done, allowing someone to trim their beard is just lame. The point is to try and make them want to shave, so well done to Sarah for sticking to her guns.

I kinda wish I'd known about this contest. Of course, I wouldn't have gone clean shaven to start so I would be DQ'd. Neither my wife or I can bear me clean shaven. It looks terrible. People would start IDing me for liquor and strip clubs.
That said, I'm disappointed in the showings here. I'm with Iceglow. I'd have something that could be called a beard in a week or less. I almost wish I grew pathetic stubble like you pansies.
I can't go 2 days without shaving the edges around my beard or I look like like a homeless person. I wish I could find old pictures of my 8 inch goat.
