According to the rules on the first post, trimming and shaping IS allowed, just discouraged. It's the shaving issue you're more concerned about. However, it seems two of the rules contradict each other.

3. Trimming and shaping are disccouraged, but allowed.
5. NO SHAVING. This will disqualify you from the contest.
Perhaps Shorty should elaborate more about these two rules.
