Final Fantasy Theme Tournament: FFX Edition

Its time for the 7th installment of the Character Theme tournament. FFX time. To be honest, I never noticed everyone got a theme so many of these are completely new to me.

Tidus ~ Tidus' Theme

Yuna ~ Yuna's Theme

Auron ~ Auron's Theme

Wakka ~ Wakka's Theme

Lulu ~ Lulu's Theme

Rikku ~ Rikku's Theme

Kimarhi ~ Servants of the Mountain

Jecht ~ Jecht's Theme

Seymour ~ Seymour's Theme

Grand Measter Mika ~ Grand Maester Mika

...and no I am not going to put the 20 bazillion versions of the Hymn of Fayeth in the contest and I don't care if the summons are important and each have their own versions of the said theme. They don't count for my tournament.

I didnt really like many of the themes besides Kimahri and Auron. I'll vote for Kimahri

I've completely missed this tournament up until now. I missed IX ;-;

The character themes in FFX are too 'easy listening', too 'elevator music' for my taste. They have some atmosphere, but there seems to be little substance to them - and I don't feel much connection to their characters.

I like Kimahri's the best as well.

Yeah, I was rather disappointed when I was listening to them as well. Then again, I never realized half of the characters actually had themes as I thought they were relegated to the main three but oh well...

Wakka's wasn't even used. I voted Lulu but then I remembered that Kimahri just had the Gagazet theme and that was a really awesome one so I changed it.

Its in the game apparently but was never released on any official soundtracks for some reason.

FFX actually has a lot of music that I like but it seems not many of them are character themes.

Going with Khimari. Only one I genuinely like.

Lulu's was pretty nice, although I can't remember hearing it much. Maybe I'd be more fond of it if it was more used.

I own the soundtrack and I'm not sure I realized how awful these character themes are as a whole. The only ones that are actually listenable are Kimahri and Mika's themes. They also happen to be pretty good songs in their own right, but stacked against the other crap there they might as well be the most amazing songs ever. I give the nod to Kimahri for the best theme though.

I'm pretty sure you could only hear it if you went to the soundtrack/cutscene theater in Luca!

This is another unreleased track. You can definitely tell Nakano composed this one. I like it :3

Yuna's theme is nice. I don't feel very strongly about any of them though.

Due to activities in my personal life, I won't be able to log in for the weekend cause I'm on a trip. Technically the thread should be closed tomorrow cause its hit its one week mark but I'm going to keep it open for a few more days cause we have two more numbered entries to do which will lead to four more competitions before the big daddy of them all.
