My housemate told me to walk into the spare room and within seconds I had 3 crawling up my yams!!!! I need my yams. How do I fix this? What are your flea opinions/experiences? Welcome to the flea thread for 2010!

Fleas are pretty easy to get rid of. You don't have to use fire, even.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

Your only solution is to destroy your living quarters. Preferably in a loud and attention getting manner.

    I suggest contacting the military.

Fleas are the least of my problems at the moment, with all of the damn mosquitos and other-worldly insects buzzing about.

When I got lola, she had a million fleas. I used a combination of flea collar + flea comb, and that didn't really help. I could pick 8 off of her at any given time. Vet gave me some flea stuff to put on the back of her neck once a month for three months (it wasn't frontline, but I don't recall the name) and she has been mostly flea-free! even though she lived outside all summer

Nasty.... You should get some carpet cleaning shampoo or something and wear some Haz Mat suit before you enter and clean that place!!

And I wouldn't want the other Flea in my room either! X_X

    What.

No. Fleas are god damn HARD to get rid of. We had to do a cycle of flea bombing, vacuuming, steam cleaning the carpets, applying chemical powders to all the floor surfaces, and washing every single piece of fabric that the fleas could have embedded eggs into. It is nearly impossible to kill flea eggs.

It took a solid week of hard work to get rid of the fleas.

Getting rid of fleas on your pets is much easier. A nice soapy bath, followed by flea medication and you're set. Fleas inside a carpet floored home is disaster though. I got rid of fleas in my parent's wood floored house in like a day though.

Having fleas was literally one of the worst times in my life. I'm allergic to their bites so I was swollen up like crazy. I would go to bed wearing two pairs socks, leggings, pants, and a sweater with the hood pulled over my face and still wake up with bites. I was ready to move out and into a hotel. It was a smurfing nightmare.

We never had problem dealing with fleas. Just vacuum and stay out of the room for a week. They need to eat regularly.

That, and frontline for your pets. It's very awesome.

It's not even my cat. I'm going to let them deal with it.

My solution is basically kill it with fire and they wont let me do that so what else can they expect of me??

Buy a stink bomb. I'm sure it'll work better than any fire anyway.
