It's not unreasonable. If you have a reason for your guess all you have to do is put your thought process in a sentence. If you don't have a reason for your guess, well...
I ask for a reason because I don't want to give it to someone who just randomly guessed and got lucky.
Well, here's a guess. I only played FFX once and don't have it in fresh memory, so have mercy if my reasoning is so-so.
My guess is the menu.
If there is a treasure that you seek, I will give you a map to find it. - Is there a map in the menu? I don't recall.
If there is a foe that stands in your way, I will give you a sword to cut it down. - You choose your weapons in the menu.
If you have lost your way, I will point you in the right direction. - You may be able to read your current objectives or something...

It made me think of GameFAQs or an Ultimania guide first up
But is there a tutorial tab in the menu? My reasoning follows Rantz's until the last. If you use tutorials or guides a lot then people who do it without the help might think you're a bit of a trout player etc!
Also the riddle threads originally required you to give a justification for your answer. I think this is perfectly acceptable.
