For the record, I can't think of a single SVU episode that portrayed gamers or gaming in a positive light (and I've actually seen most of them). But that was easily the most accurate and flattering portrayal yet.
Or the exact opposite of that anyway. Not sure what their writers have against games to be honest.
It is more a reflection of what their target demographic think/want to think about gamers.
i was actually going to post first on this, but I had trouble with Youtube. I always notice how in TV shows when gamers are playing games they always say I was on Level (insert number here).
When the hell was the last time that a real gamer identified levels of a game by numbers? That's seriously outdated and TV shows constantly use it.

You guys should follow Ice T on Twitter. He's on SVU (relevant to this topic), he's a gamer (voice is gonna be in Gears 3), he's "gangsta" (his words) and hilariously honest.

ahahahahhahaha I love it. I used to watch SVU every now and again solely for the pure Original-Gangster badassery that is Ice-T.
Hahaha, seriously?! I must intern on this show.Originally Posted by @FinalLevel

On a side note, did anyone else think of Joel Holmes when they were watching this?
I love SVU, I though this was hilarious.
SVU used to be my favorite as well. Though yeah, they've portrayed gamers in a bad light in a lot of episodes. It got a little too dramatic between the cast for my taste after a while so I quit watching. And haven't watched the original since that old guy was put in there. Much like Vinnie of Criminal Intent, he just "knew" things that were ridiculously convenient. Incidentally that's why I don't watch CSI: NY and NCIS. They both have a bad habit of writing in conveniences for the characters to figure things out in just the right way. Something I'd praise House for actually, since that show was actually based on being wrong. A lot. Until they're right. Or spending the whole episode being right but nobody believes. But enough of that tirade. I don't really watch TV at all anymore.. All my shows have taken similar paths. Bad writing or cancellations
No but bravo for a spot-on comparisonOriginally Posted by Shiny

Wow... just wow. If I had interest in watching this show before its certainly gone now. The graphics for that game were terrible. It looked like something off the Atari Jaguar or the CD-i but X-Box? seriously? They need better resources.![]()
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
God dammit, now the police are going to start checking under my stairs.
Looks like I need a new hiding place.
